On June 2, 2012, Grandmaster Vincent Marchetti and Sensei Joe Pung attended the World Head of Family Sokeship Council’s 20th Anniversary Celebration and Awards Banquet in Orlando, Florida. The World Head of Family Sokeship Council (WHFSC) is the world’s largest and most elite gathering of Martial Arts Grandmasters and Masters worldwide. The Awards Ceremony was attended by more than 450 influential martial arts leaders representing martial arts styles from around the world; representatives at this year’s event hailed from Israel, Japan, Denmark, Switzerland, England, the USA and more.
Grandmaster Marchetti conducted a closed door, Grandmasters-only meeting of the council. The weekend also featured two days of seminars by International Grandmasters from around the world. Capping off all of the festivities was the Saturday evening banquet, a formal dinner event that featured dazzling Martial Arts demonstrations and entertainment.
The World Head of Family Sokeship Council was founded in 1992, by Grandmaster Frank E. Sanchez of Guam. Grandmaster Marchetti has served on the Board for the Council since its inception. Currently, the Council has over 160 members worldwide representing every conceivable martial arts style and origin. Their members reads like a virtual “Who’s Who” of the martial arts world. The Council serves the Martial Arts Community by providing in-depth investigations into the validity, knowledge and skill of their membership.
